Founded by the great translator, Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo in the 11th century. The monastery has exquisite 11th century Kashmiri Buddhist murals which have suffered badly due to neglect and the harsh mountain weather, and soon you might not be able to see them at all.
The Chadar Trek or the Zanskar Gorge trek is a winter trail over the frozen Zanskar River, which lies in the Indian union territory of Ladakh. It is traditionally the only means of travel in the area during the harsh winter months.

In the days of yore, the fertile Valley of Nubra formed a part of the overland route between Tibet and Turkestan. Once dotted with garlands of camel and yak caravans, this Silk Route glen is also known as the 'Valley of Flowers' of Ladakh, and is amongst the greenest valleys in the region.
Magnet Hill is a gravity hill located near Leh in Ladakh, India.[1] The layout of the area and surrounding slopes create the optical illusion of a hill. The hill road is actually a downhill road. Objects and cars on the hill road may appear to roll uphill in defiance of gravity .
